Two Made by Attic mockups in the hands of Hécate Studio
The Studio
Hécate Studio is a French design studio. Its philosophy sits at the intersection of strategy and minimalism: identities where simplicity becomes something closer to enchantment, where every detail translates a brand's vision, presence, and longevity. The Kōhi project is a strong demonstration of that approach.
The Brand World
The visual language is minimal and considered. Off-white, black, warm wood tones. Typography that mixes a clean Western serif with Japanese script without either feeling out of place. The balance is genuinely difficult to achieve and Shirley pulled it off: the identity feels bilingual in the deepest sense, not translated but native in both directions.
The menu is a highlight. Set on our pearlescent card held in a single hand. Reading it feels like planning a trip. The business cards are equally strong: long and horizontal, off-white stock, Japanese characters on one face, the Brooklyn address and contact details on the other. They look like something you would keep rather than file away.
Why Two Made by Attic Mockups
Hécate Studio selected two of our mockups to finalize the Kōhi presentation: the storefront window and the menu mockup. The reason was about finding the right shadow to support the typography.
That is exactly the kind of decision that separates a good presentation from a great one. The Kōhi identity relies on negative space and typographic precision. The wrong mockup, with the wrong light or the wrong surface texture, would have flattened all of that work.
The Result
A coffee bar that does not exist yet, presented so convincingly that you already miss it.
